Meet our Board Members…

Kathleen Bolkus

Kathy taught in Philadelphia for about 30 years as a Special Education teacher and later as a Reading Specialist. After receiving her Doctorate in Education, Kathy became a professor at Arcadia University where she directed the Masters of Literacy course of study and supervised the children’s reading program for the Reading Specialist program. Kathy is also an accomplished pianist and church organist.

 

Kristen Kerwin

Kristen is a lifelong Pennsylvania resident, born in Pittsburgh and later raised in Doylestown, Bucks County, PA. She now resides in Montgomery County, PA with her husband and 4 children. Kristen has a BA in Mathematical Sciences, and has worked with the American Red Cross and on staff at a local church. She is now a full-time artist, and sells online and in small businesses local to Bucks and Montgomery Counties. In her spare time, she enjoys volunteering in her community, reading, attending live performances, travelling with her family - and more crafting!

 
 
 

Manisha Patel

Manisha grew up in Bucks County, PA and now resides in Central NJ where she is presently retired. After obtaining her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with a concentration in Medical Technology from East Stroudsburg University, Manisha was working in the healthcare industry for over 25 years as a certified Medical Technologist. She is now actively volunteering her time as an active Board member of Greater Somerset County YMCA along with the Food Bank Network of Somerset County. In her spare time she enjoys exercising, traveling, reading, yoga and meditation.

 

 Krista Spadt

Krista studied chemistry and biology as an undergrad at University of Delaware, and then went on to get her Masters in Education. Krista taught chemistry and science & technology for a decade in King of Prussia, before deciding to spend some time at home with her young kids. She has since worked as a moderator at BeaconLive Communications, was the Director of Children’s Ministries at Doylestown Pres., and taught biology at Insight PA Cyber School. Krista is now concentrating her efforts into growing Simple Gifts Project and increasing its reach to help spread smiles far and wide. She volunteers as a Deacon and MOPS leader at her church. Krista enjoys spending her free time with her family.
